Nick Darcy gets behind Youngcare with 2021 Simpson Desert Challenge

Each year Youngcare facilitate the ultimate Australian adventure challenge to raise much needed funds for suitable housing for people with disabilities.

Last year the Simpson Desert Challenge raised over $600,000 thanks to 14 motivated trekkers taking on 250+ kilometers over nine days.

This year, Ezyquip Hire are proud to support one of our very own as Nick Darcy, our National Business Development Manager, is set to embark on the Simpson Desert Challenge in 2021. While formal training does not commence until the New Year, Nick has already started basic training in the early mornings, on his weekends, and even keeping to his personal training schedule while away on work trips.

Nick admitted “I’ve actually enjoyed getting back into fitness. At first this challenged seemed a bit daunting, but now that I’m into the swing of things I’m almost excited for the real thing next year.”

Fundraising in support of Nick’s journey has only just kicked off, however Ezyquip Hire have a few activities in the pipeline to reach their fundraising goal of $35,000 by April next year.

“We’re really grateful for the support, and at the end of the day it’s all going towards such a worthy cause, so every little bit counts.”
